Privacy Policy
e-OCI Wallet ("we", "us") is an independent app that lets you keep a private, convenient digital copy of your OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address and password (stored only as a secure one-way hash).
- Card data you add — the OCI card details and photo you enter or import. This is encrypted before it is stored.
- Minimal technical data — basic logs and session records needed to run the service and keep your account secure.
- Payment data — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your card numbers.
How we use it
Only to provide the app: to sync your card across your devices, send the reminders you enable, and secure your account. We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.
How it is protected
- Card data is encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and served only over HTTPS.
- Passwords are hashed (scrypt); the database is not exposed to the public internet.
- You can review and revoke signed-in devices at any time.
Your control
From Settings → Account & Security you can export all your data or permanently delete your account and everything in it, at any time.
Sharing
We share your information only when: (a) you create a read-only verification link and choose to share it; or (b) with service providers strictly needed to run the app (e.g. Stripe for billing). We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Government of India.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new date. Questions? Email support@e-oci.com or see our Contact page.
